The implementation of the Act provides Gars Parfums with the opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to enforcing measures that combat slavery and human trafficking.

Verification Requirements for Suppliers

Gars Parfums has implemented the Gars Parfums Code of Conduct (the “Code”) and requires all suppliers — including subcontractors involved in the manufacturing process of Gars Parfums products — to agree to and adhere to the terms of the Code.

The Code establishes non-negotiable minimum standards for suppliers in the areas of health and safety, labor standards, business integrity, and environmental responsibility. Additionally, Gars Parfums may conduct supplier audits, as described below, to verify compliance with the Code.

Supplier Audits

Gars Parfums audits suppliers that, based on an analysis of business volume and the risk of labor abuses in the supplier’s country of operation, may present a higher risk of working condition violations.

These audits ensure supplier compliance with internationally recognized social accountability standards, such as Social Accountability International’s SA8000 — an international code of conduct designed to improve working conditions worldwide.

Gars Parfums requires all suppliers to formally acknowledge, sign, and comply with the Code of Conduct.

Maintaining Accountability

If Gars Parfums becomes aware of any actions or conditions that do not comply with the Code, the company reserves the right to require corrective measures and, if necessary, terminate agreements with suppliers who fail to meet compliance standards.
